Supporting the Heritage Community of Argyll and Bute

Argyll & Bute Museums & Heritage Forum (ABMHF) is a Scottish charity (SCIO-SC050209) that supports people, places, and organisations involved in heritage across the Argyll and Bute area. We are a very small team of volunteers and very much welcome new trustees / directors to join us.

We started out as a group of people who were working together to enable our small, independent museums of Argyll and Bute to achieve accreditation.
Over time we have expanded our focus and our membership to reflect a much wider heritage perspective. We are here to support the entire heritage sector. This includes volunteers, community groups, businesses, and everyone interested in our region’s history.
From ancient times to the present day, we are here to celebrate the people, places, islands, and everything that makes our heritage unique.

Join us and be part of a supportive community.
As a member, you’ll have opportunities to:

  • Connect with like-minded people: Network with other heritage professionals, volunteers, and enthusiasts.
  • Share knowledge and experiences: Learn from each other and stay up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices.
  • Collaborate on projects: Work together to preserve and promote our region’s rich heritage.
  • Access resources and support: Benefit from training, funding opportunities, and advice.

Together, we can make a difference.
By joining ABMHF, you’ll be contributing to a thriving heritage sector and helping to ensure that our history is preserved for future generations.

We are always interested in hearing from anyone who would be interested in helping further our aims and activities.

If you are involved in heritage in any way, large or small, individual, professional or volunteer, you are encouraged to join the Forum. Membership is free, you are most welcome.
