Sorry about the short notice, you are invited to the Argyll and Bute
Heritage forum AGM 1st November, Rockfield Centre, Oban
Argyll & Bute Museums & Heritage Forum
ABMHF is beginning a new journey. After a period of inertia, the Forum
is ready to take on the new challenges presented by changing attitudes
to heritage and culture.
In the past the Forum has focused on the delivery of training
programmes, provided by others organisations, along with a networking
opportunity for its members. While the training has been valuable and
well received, we are aware that there are greater needs within the
culture and heritage environment. It is these needs that we aim to
address as we redefine our aims and objectives.
The ABMHF annual meeting will take place on Thursday 1 November at the
Rockfield Centre in Oban.
We’ll be meeting at 11.30am for the AGM, followed by lunch (provided
free, courtesy of LiveArgyll) and an exciting afternoon of inspiration
You will be aware that ABMHF was struggling this time last year and
that we have had a ‘caretaking’ committee in place for the last 12
months. This has given us time to consider the ABMHF constitution and
start planning for a new re-vitalised forum. We hope that you will
come along and give us your support as we head onwards and upwards.
There is an exciting vision for this organisation being developed to
support us all, individually and collectively we are important members
of our social, cultural and economy community.
Please let Alison Diamond, Inveraray Archives, on firstname.lastname@example.org
know whether or not you will be able to join us on Thursday 1
If you are able to come, please let me know how many folk for your
organisation will be coming and if they have any access of dietary
Feel free to share this invitation with other organisations which may
wish to join ABMHF and ask them to contact Alison direct with their
The preliminary timetable for the day is attached : Heritage Forum Agenda – AGM – 2018, there are other
speakers to be confirmed, and more importantly this is an opportunity
to come together with like minded community heritage members of our
area to help guide the Forum committee build the Argyll Heritage
network that will serve you, as our most important heritage assets
throughout our area.
